My first remembrances of "Uncle John" are of a young, single man who lived in the old original family home with "Grannie" and "Uncle Art". He was always full of fun then and I am sure that he continued to have that sparkle in his eye for a long time. It was somewhat hard to see him suffering from Parkinson's along with mourning the loss of Catherine but it was obvious that he was getting good support from his family and many friends.
Please know that our thoughts are with his daughters and grandchildren at this time.

Helen, Brenda, Bev and families,
Your dad was like a second father to me during my teen years after my own dad passed away.
I was later privileged to work with Jack for almost 10 years. During those years, I got to know him well. His dedication to his job, his immense knowledge of our town's infrastructure, his soft-spoken nature, his kind and caring demeanor, his honesty and integrity, his devotion to family and even his fiery temper (that I didn't see very often, but look out when he got worked up!) all taught me many life lessons I'm sure he never even knew about. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. I know how much I'm hurting inside having lost such a powerful and positive influence in my life, but I can only imagine the pain you must feel.
My heart aches for each of you, but I know that the wonderful memories you have amassed throughout your lives will sustain you in the difficult days ahead.

I remember Jack and Catherine. He was My Dad- Roy Head's cousin. A fine example they both were. Fond memories of our days in the army together and living close by to Aunt Louisa . So good to know they had a great life together and a big family . Knowing we will meet again is a Joy. Promoted to Glory is our peace . God bless the family

I remember the Head family in New Waterford.
Growing up as a Roman Catholic (St. Agnes) I went to Cubs and Scouts at the Army...they had the best pack and troop. My memory includes 'Jack'. The Heads were along with the Watts' the main families in TSA then.
When Edna and I were commissioned in 1977 we visited New Waterford as brand new Lieutenants and attended the Corps on one of the Sundays we were there.
The Head family were an example of true Salvationists.
