Obituary of Neil Joseph Doyle

It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Neil Joseph Doyle, 75, of New Waterford on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Edward and Anastasia (Wall) Doyle. Neil was a member of the former St. Agnes Church, currently the Parish Church of St. Leonard. He loved listening to country music and was a faithful follower of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. Surviving are brothers, Gerald (Brenda) Doyle, New Victoria, John (Rosina) Doyle, New Waterford; sisters, Jenny (Jim) Timmons, Scotchtown, Kathleen Bragg, North Sydney, Jeanette Tighe, New Waterford, Mary Corbett, Sydney; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Neil was predeceased by one sister, Eileen and one brother, James. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, New Waterford. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
