Walter Andrew Kuta
Walter Andrew Kuta, age 81, passed away peacefully and comfortably under the excellent care of Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Sydney on Thursday, January 11, 2018.
Walter was born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Walter “Laddie” and Maude (Miller) Kuta.
Walter was an electrician and a life time member of the IBEW, Local 1852. He enjoyed playing guitar, skating and spending time on the Mira River. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Walter is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth “Ruby” (Curnew) Kuta, sons, John (Norma), Stephen and daughter, Cathy (Charlie) Moores, grandchildren, Cameron, Christina Moores, brothers, Roy (Marg), Bill (Anne), David, special nieces, Anna and Ava George along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by his sisters, Joyce, Elsie and brothers, Gerry and Jimmy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 15 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 am in Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay followed by a reception in the church hall. Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
