Obituary of Mary Marguerite Lever, New Waterford

It is with regret and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Margie Lever on March 9, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.  Born in New Victoria, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Florence Mac Neil, both of Benacadie Pond. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cornelius ‘Cornie’ Lever; sisters, Louise and Helen; brothers, John, Malcolm, Francis and James. 

Loving mother of, Janice (Lloyd) Morrison, Southside Boularderie.  Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Fraser (Dawn) Morrison of Halifax, Kelly Morrison of Red Deer, AB and Andrew (Liza) Morrison of Red Deer, AB; great-grandchildren, Conner, Kyle, Jorja, Jerich, Louis and Genesis.  Survived by brother-in-law, James (MC) Leaver; numerous nieces and nephews; special nephews and families, Terry (Ann) MacNeil, Malcolm (Nina) MacNeil and dear friends, Bernie & Thelma Doucette.  Special thank you to Dr. Irina Ghenea and Dr. Charles Coish for all the years of caring, compassionate medical care.  Thank you to Dr. Andrew Giorno, the Emergency staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and Palliative Care.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A celebration of life will take place at 10 am, Friday, March 16 in the Parish Church of Saint Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Leonard’s Hall, Convent Street, New Waterford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation Cardiac Fund or the Cancer Patient Care Fund would be greatly appreciated.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
