Obituary of Jenice Agnes Ramsay, New Waterford

We, the family, are heartbroken to announce the passing of Jenice Agnes Ramsay, 72, on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late James Patrick 'Jim' and Charlotte 'Toots' (Nearing) Burns.

Surviving are her children, George David Ramsay Jr., J-Lynn (Kenneth) McNeil, Janna Ramsay (Malcom McMillan); grandchildren, Avery (Marissa) McNeil, Gavin (Terra) McNeil, Cameron (Kyra) McNeil, William Ramsay and Karmen Ramsay; great-grandchildren, Leighlah and Jackelyn; siblings, William 'Bill' (Isabel Gadd), Andrea Kliza, James Burns 'Jimmy', Charles 'Charlie' Burns (Laurie Ann); In-laws, Mary (MacPhee) Burns and Gwen Burns.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George David Ramsay Sr.; grandson, Steven Ramsay in infancy; father and mother-in-law, George and Helen (Smith) Ramsay; brothers, Ernest Burns, Luke Burns and Henry Burns; In-laws, Anthony 'Tony' Kliza, Dolena 'Dolly' Burns, Gloria 'Gordie' Burns and Lorna Burns. 

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A Funeral Mass of celebration will take place Wednesday, June 6 at 3 p.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mt. Carmel Avenue, with Father Paul MacGillivray officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, River Ryan. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
