John Angus McEachern, age 91, of Taigh Na Mara, Glace Bay and a Veteran of World War 2, passed away on Monday, June 4th, 2018 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Reserve Mines, he was the son of the late Alex and Catherine (Fennell) McEachern.
John was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was employed in Toronto as a brakeman with CN Rail Company.
He is survived by a daughter, Frankie Isnor (Gary), Halifax, two grandchildren, Ann-Marie Isnor, Michelle Quigley (Joe), both in Halifax, three great grandchildren, William, Alexa, Jacob and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by four brothers, Walter, Roddie, Bobby, Roy and four sisters, Ca, Bibby, Nonie and Mary.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 8th, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Deacon Lorne McNeil presiding. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Reserve Mines.
