LOCKMAN, April Leigh

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of April Leigh Lockman, age 37 on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Q.E 2 Hospital, Halifax.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of Linda (Davidson) Lockman and the late John Lockman.
April was employed at Stream Call Centre. She enjoyed reading, using the computer and was a great lover of animals, especially her cat, Lucy. But mostly, April will be remembered as a quiet, easy going young woman who would help anybody in there time of need.
Besides her mother, April is survived by her partner, Derrick MacNeil, stepson, Andrew, stepdaughter, Erin, sisters, Barbara Gallant (Richard), Glace Bay, Brenda Lockman, Halifax, a brother, John, Glace Bay, two nieces, two nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was predeceased by her father, John in 2000 and maternal/paternal grandparents, Charles and Daisy Davidson, Gerald and Gertrude Lockman.
No visitation. Cremation, under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, Glace Bay, N.S. has taken place.
The funeral mass officiated by Fr. Dan Boudreau is Wednesday, 2 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport followed by interment in the parish cemetery. The reception is in the parish hall.
