Obituary of Sarah Ann Corbett

Sarah Ann Corbett New Waterford It is with sadness, that we the family, announce the passing of Sarah Ann Corbett (MacLeod), age 88 of New Waterford on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Mary Jo (Groves) MacLeod. Sarah enjoyed playing bingo, poker, watching old movies, reading and sitting outside on the swing or in her rocking chair. Most of all she loved being surrounded by her family and friends. Surviving are her son, Richard; daughters, Linda, Gale and the youngest, Diane; sisters, Catherine MacLeod and Geraldine Burns. Sarah will be sadly missed by her 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Sarah was predeceased by her husband, John Corbett in 1980, daughters, Ann Lewis, Lorraine MacNeil, son, Joseph Corbett, daughter-in-law Margaret Ann Corbett and her brother, Tommy MacLeod. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30 from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Donations in memory of Sarah may be made to the Cancer Society.
