It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, Diane Louise (Deane) Hill, on Monday July 4, 2016 with her son by her side.

Born in Glace Bay on Nov.13, 1946, Diane was the daughter of the late Douglas Deane and surviving mother Viola (Allison) Deane.

Diane can easily be described as a caring, kind-hearted, honest woman who always found the good in people and who would always be there to listen to anyone who needed to talk. She enjoyed a good book, crossword puzzles, walking or just spending time with her mother, son or grandchildren.

Diane is survived by her loving mother Viola (Allison) Deane; son,Ron Hill; grandchildren, Faith, Ron, Noah; sisters, Linda (Tom) McMullin, Trenton, ON, Sheila (Lenny) Lynk, Glace Bay; brother, Robert (Donna) Burchell, Kingston, NS; sisters-in-law, Juanita 'Wannie' Deane, Glace Bay, and Deanna Deane, Port Hawkesbury; close friend Kenny Brinston, as well as nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Douglas Deane, Glace Bay; brothers, Dougie Deane, Glace Bay, and Donnie Deane, Port Hawkesbury.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J.McGillivray Funeral Home,16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.There will be no visitation or service. Close friends and family are welcome to meet at the family home on Friday, July 8 at 2:00 p.m to share in her memory. Donations in Diane's memory may be made to a charity of choice.
