Obituary of Glen Patrick MacDougall
We, the family of the late Glen Patrick MacDougall, 49, of Sydney and formerly of New Waterford express with heavy hearts the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother and devoted loving father on Monday, July 11, at home.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of Marjorie (O'Brien) and the late Alphonse MacDougall.
Glen spent many years working for Silviculture which was one of his great passions in life, giving him the opportunity to be surrounded by the great outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with friends at the YMCA in Sydney. Glen looked forward to his many trips with his friends riding on the open road and was also a good friend of Bill W.
Glen is survived by his two loving children, Kristen and Brandon, both of Sydney; two brothers Brian (Sharon), Halifax, Kevin, Dartmouth; four sisters, Arlene (Bruce), Margaree Valley, Cindy (Frank), Mona (Roger), both of Sydney, Shirley (Charlie), New Waterford. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Glen always carried a special little place in his heart for his only godchild, Shelley.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. A funeral service will take place Monday, July 18 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Father Jim Oliver officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Leonard's Parish Hall on Convent Street, New Waterford. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
