Obituary of Nora May Campbell

With heavy and saddened hearts we announce the passing of our Mom, Nora May (Miller) Campbell. She passed peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Maple Hill Manor surrounded by her loving family. Mom was born on October 5, 1927, the daughter of the late Elmer and Catherine (MacDonald) Miller of Melrose Hill, Inverness County. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Duncan 'Dick' Campbell and her brother Hiram Miller. Left to mourn with loving memories are son, Jerome and daughter, Noreen. She will be fondly remembered by her two grandchildren, Jenet Campbell and Janelle (Jeffrey) Osborne as well as her three great-grandchildren Campbell, Logan and Isabella. Also left to mourn are nieces, nephews, as well as her sister-in-law, Nin Campbell. Mom was a faithful member of Calvin United Church, New Waterford. We would like to acknowledge the wonderful care she received from the staff of Maple Hill Manor. Many thanks to Dr. Peter Littlejohn for the professional care and compassion he showed Mom since many years. Special thanks to family and friends who took time out of busy schedules to visit with Mom. She so appreciated those visits. Visitation will be held Monday, July 18 from 5-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 19 at 11 a.m. in Calvin United Church, Hudson Street, New Waterford, with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Mom will be buried with Dad, the love of her life, in Mount Carmel Cemetery, George Street, New Waterford. A luncheon will follow at St. Leonard's Hall on Convent Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvin United Church. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God has laid, you see. I took His hand when I heard his call, Remember me, I loved you all.
