Obituary of Elizabeth Mary Wilson

It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of an amazing mother and grandmother, Elizabeth Mary Wilson, on July 16, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Alice (Drake) and Joe Doyle. Elizabeth took pride in devoting her life to caring for her family and home. Her apple and meat pies, biscuits and homemade bread and jam were a welcomed treat enjoyed by all. She loved to read, shop and play darts. Her dart family were a big part of her life and brought her much joy. Weekly retail outings with her daughter Cecilia was also something she cherished. Being a spectator at her grandchildren's sports activities was also a priority. Her enthusiastic support of their play could be heard at many rinks and gyms near and far. Elizabeth is survived by daughter Cecilia (Dennis); sons Joey (Peggy), Clayton (Cathy) and Cecil (Karen); her pride and joy, her nine grandchildren, Crista, Holly, Courtnay, Jessica, Kyle, Joey, Ryan, Jocelyn and Adam. She is also survived by brothers Art, Ozzie (Terrina), Billy (Shirley), Pat (Frances) and sister, Mary Rowlands; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy (Margie), and sister-in-law, Mary. Elizabeth is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and very special and dedicated friends. Elizabeth was predeceased by the one and only love of her life, her husband of 38 years, Cecil Wilson. She was also predeceased by her father and mother-in-law, Buddy and Irene (Murphy) Wilson, her brothers Kevin, Johnny and special sister-in-law, Debbie; brothers-in-law, Leslie, Bernard, Richard, Lloyd, Russell, Clayton, Earl, Gerald and sisters-in-law, Irene and Thelma. Elizabeth's generosity of spirit and her strength will continue to inspire all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford.
