We've been Ernie and Almas neighbor for 10 years. We could not have asked for better neighbors.
Last winter I watched Ernie gingerly walking across the ice in his yard carrying a shovel so I went with my shovel to help.
After clearing the snow away from his rear garage door he invited me in for a beer and a 4 hour tour of his house and memories as he showed me many pictures of his beautiful wife Alma.
Ernie had a voice that was like "The Friendly Giant", as he spoke it was like you were being schooled with knowledge.
It states in his obituary that his kids were proud to answer who their father was.
I am also proud to have called him my neighbor and friend.

Ernie always met me with a smile and a wink as well as a , "How's it going today MacKenzie"! He was a man I admired for what I seen in his children and their values that he set in them !! He was a hard working, rough, and a gentle spirit a lot like his father !! Sleep well, Ernie as all your aches are over !! Tell your Dad I miss fishing with him and your Mom I loved her smile and wish I had her rocking chair !!
My deepest remorse for those that grieve his loss but savor in my beliefs that he is united with those he truely loved ! Hope you packed that short spinning gear as your Dad will have you on the North-West brook with stories of lynxes tagging you two :-)) God bless !!
