Obituary of Agnes (McDonough)MacDougall, Glace Bay

Agnes Maria (McDonough) MacDougall, age 93 of Glace Bay passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24th, 2018 in the Palliative Care Unit , CBRH, Sydney.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Joseph and Margaret Mary (Bates) McDonough. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Agnes worked at Eaton's Store and mailroom, Glace Bay and was also employed at Dave's Creamery, Glace Bay. She was an avid reader, traveler and skater. Agnes enjoyed playing cards and spending time at their bungalow in Mira.

She is survived by two nieces, Lorna Currie, Sheila LeBlanc, six nephews, Mike and Martin McDonough, Donnie, Aubrey, Arthur Ferguson and Dan MacDougall. Also surviving are numerous grand nieces, grand nephews and her sister in law, Marge MacDougall.

Agnes was predeceased by her loving husband, Angus MacDougall(2004), three brothers, Bernard, Francis, Patrick McDonough, one sister, Margaret Mercer, nephew, Dennis Leroy McDonough, two half sisters, Cecilia Ferguson and Mary Schnappauf, and brother in law Neil MacDougall.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning, December 29th  from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 (noon) followed by a reception, all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Fr. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
