Nellie touched the life of every single person she met and their lives were changed forever. I'm sure there is not one single person who knew Nellie and hasn't heard one of her stories about her many adventures. Well, she's made her final earthly adventure by crossing over to be with her family gone before her. May all your beautiful memories sustain you until you meet again. Nellie was a beautiful lady. Thinking of you all. xo

Dear cousins. My sincerest sympathies to you and your families. I remember Aunt Nellie as being fun, fearless and full of joy. She and Aunt Rita were sisters and protectors to Mom growing up, and I don't know what Agnes would have done without them. As kids, I remember Aunt Nellie making sure we all had a great time at the Waterfence, and we all knew we were safe under her watchful eye. Aunt Nellie cared about others and wasn't afraid to show it. I remember her going off to a local nun's funeral because she thought there wouldn't be enough mourners there. She also accompanied me to visit my Aunt Shirley, so I wouldn't have to go alone. Your family has always been generous in opening your hearts and your homes to us, your cousins from away, and we are grateful to you. Aunt Nellie was a strong role model for us, showing us how to be kind and generous to others. Her lessons will not soon be forgotten. Our memories of her will live on.

My sympathies on the loss of your mom and grandmother. Aunt Nellie was the sweetest, strongest, funniest and most patient woman I ever knew. She was a hard working nurse She could tell us stories about you all, funny ones all the time, so when she left you to visit mom, or your other siblings she never left you as she took you with her in her stories and in her heart as I know she has now. She was always talking about her grandchildren, especially Jeffrey and all his antics as he grew up. She involved herself in our lives in a good way. My sister Sharon has said it all before me. She looked out for all of us. Every time she would talk to mom on the phone she would ask how I was, it meant a lot to me. She was just as special to me. With her big heart she had no enemies, just friends and family. I will always miss her and think of her fondly. Mom could not call you yesterday Ricky as she was too distraught over the news and could not talk, she did not even tell us until today, but she said she would call you today. She was always a good sister to her, so glad mom had her and Aunt Rita growing up so she was not alone.

Dearest Cousins, we were devastated to hear of Nellie's passing and Mom & Dad took it very hard. Her funeral will be held on their 67th anniversary. We hate to let go of our beloved family members but God needs his angels. We have been remembering and talking about Aunt Nellie's various exploits and her "can do" attitude. She was brave, loving and never complained and she could tell a joke & laugh! Thanks Nellie for taking me to the water fence and loving me and my family.
