My father and mother both thought Alan Gillis to be a good man. That was good enough for me. I was just a little kid when we lived just across the lane from each other but i, as well, liked Alan very much. You were ALL good neighbors! So very sorry for your father's passing. He is with Diane now, and that can be nothing but a good thing! Bless you all.

Dear Family,
Our very sincere condolences. As we were growing up in No. 11 in the 50’s and 60’s your dad, brother was known as the gentle soul in our group. I have very warm memories of Allan and I thank God that we visited with him in his home last September. As were most, I was shocked to hear about his passing. I will try to post two photos, one taken in 1960 and the other last September in his home. May he Rest In Peace.

Kelly, Allan Jr and family
So sorry to read about his passing away. He was such a devoted family man, always up for a game of cards when I visited or when he came to Halifax with your mother. I loved his sense of humour and kindness. He will be missed especially by his grandchildren who he loved so dearly. Farewell to an awesome man.

I dot know where to start to talk about Allen. We had so many good times, fishing ,playing cards and bowling. He was there for me when my wife died. We talked about his Toronto Maple Leaf's, his family whom he loved very dearly and life in general. We had a few beers together after the card games. He was a true friend.

I was so shocked to hear about Allen, as I saw him only a few weeks ago at Cathie's funeral.
My heart is broken for Kelly, Allen and family.
He was a man of laughter .
And a gamer when it came to cards with mom and dad. ( Now the 4 of them are playing cards again) .
Always in my prayers.
Condolences to the family
