I was home visiting in Sydney when a friend of mine told me you mom had passed away. I was formally from Grand Lake Road and went to high school at Reserve District High School. I took the commercial course in grade 11 & 12 so I had your mom for a teacher. Words couldn’t express how I felt about your mother. She was the best teacher and friend I every had during my school years. It was great to see her again when they held the big school reunion at the school back in the mid 80’s. She brought as many of her former students as possible up to the commercial room to reminisce about the so called “good old days”. Of all the students who were there just me and one other were parents to twins. Morris and his wife had twin girls and Henry and I hit the jackpot and had a boy and girl. She thought that was just great. She was so interested in hearing all our stories about our lives and where we worked. She was just her usual wonderful friendly self. This picture you have displayed of her brought tears to my eyes. She was truly an amazing teacher and loved by all the students she taught. My condolences to all her family. One of her many students who loved her, Joanne Duffett (Boudreau)

My sincere condolences on your loss. Mrs, MacDonald was a beautiful lady. She wasn't one of my regular teachers in Reserve but allowed a group of us to go into her class during an off class and taught us how to type. Little did we ever realize then how valuable it would become in our lives. I also know i'm not the only one who feels this way. We not only learned to type but got to know her as a teacher and a friend. I smile when i think of her and her great sense of humour. May she rest in peace.

Dear Mildred Lynn & Bill, Thank you so much for sending your mom’s final tribute. You did an epic job of tending to your mom’s needs for many months. It was not easy, but you did it with integrity and humor. When we visited you during the Celtic festival, it was wonderful to go with you to Seaview Manor and sing songs with you and your mom. It will be etched in our memory forever, the proud traditions of your family, and all the musical traditions that make Cape Breton so special. We send love and best wishes to you and your family. May you find peace in all you did for your mother in the last days of her life on this earth! On to the next adventure! Love, Ted & Shelley
