Obituary of Warrant Officer Neil Walter Fisher, Sydney/Glace Bay
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Neil Walter Fisher, 55 of Sydney, Nova Scotia on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with his loving family by his side.
Neil was born in Glace Bay on October 5, 1963. He was the son of the late Walter and Beverly Ann (Richards) Fisher.
He was in the Military Reserves for 20 years and was a Warrant Officer proudly serving in the 35 Sydney Medical Corps until his retirement. He was proud of his military history. Neil loved to fish and hunt,he enjoyed playing computer games, watching T.V, enjoyed entertaining, cooking and was an avid golfer and loved all sports. Neil was a loving husband and a caring father to his son, Neil.
Neil was survived by his wife, Sarah (McPhee), son, Neil,Sydney; sister, Laura lee (Tim) Mills, Chalk River, On; brothers-in- law, John (Karen), Wayne (Theresa); sister-in- law, Holly (Lloyd) and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home ,Chapel and Reception Centre, 16 Reserve Street , Glace Bay with Rev. Dorothy Miller presiding. A reception will follow the service. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery, Glace Bay .
