Papa, I'll miss you. I wish we could have been home more these past years. My boys never really had a chance to get to know you and see you in your element (at the cabin). They would have loved to fish with you and visit "loon lake". I know some of my best memories were with you at the cabin. I'm glad we were able to spend some time with you, to share some laughs. You could so easily make my boys laugh or blush with your humor and pickin. They could never tell when you were joking... lol. Know you were.loved even though we weren't together as much as we'd like.
All our LOVE,
Troy, Stephanie, Caiden, Noah McKinnon

I am so sorry for your loss. John had a great sense of humor (lots of sarcasm) and a gift to gab. I have many fond memories of my time spent over the years at the Mossop home and cabin in Framboise. When I was 14 ( many years ago lol) John took me fishing into Lake in the Woods, he failed to tell me it was a 2 hour walk in through bush and thick trees. He was probably chuckling to himself the whole way. It was a great day, I didn't catch any fish but I am sure I provided a few laughs for him at my expense. Crystal and Brad had great times with John and many fond memories. I am thinking of you all at this difficult time and hope you find comfort in all the cherished memories you have had with your dad and papa over the years. Wish I could be there.

A Beautiful man, a beautiful life and a beautiful family
Papa
Being your granddaughter has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I often thought I loved you the most. The truth is by the time I came around you were very easy to love. Life's lessons had been learned and stubbornness no longer got in the way of great memories being made. The hard edges were now smooth and there was nothing left but sheer perfection. I got all the good stuff and that part is no longer lost on me.
You were never one to complain even though you had every right to. Upon retirement you were diagnosed with painful rheumatoid arthritis. Instead of letting that get in the way you made do. You lived life bravely and took great pleasure in the simple treasures. I fondly remember you sitting on a stool outside and having us grand-kids close our eyes. You tossing a rock into the air and having us search for it. You weren't going to let a little thing like crippling arthritis get in the way of having fun with us kids.I remember you stomping your good foot at my wedding dance. My favorite Christmas's were the ones I got to share with you. Snatching you up from Cape Breton so you could spend Christmas with us main-landers. You always welcomed company and had a way of extending goodbyes.
I hope that I am able to live life as graciously as you did. I knew this day would come, but it hurts just the same. I'll miss our adventures to Walmart and the Dollarama, cutting your hair, and aggravating one another, one of our favorite past times. Who's going to warn people about me before I enter a room if you're not around? How will they know that "she's the boss" if your not around to tell everyone? I'll miss your "I love you's", how easily you said it and how I knew how much you meant it.
Having you as my Papa has been priceless gift
I love you, but of course you know that
Crystal
