I know I'm late to this thread, but I really didn't know we had lost this special light. My mind has been on Susan this week as I watch Hurricane Fiona move toward Nova Scotia. You see I met Susan, 14 years ago at the Prince George Hotel, where I was scheduled to work my first shift in accounting the day after Hurricane Juan. We had a brief 9 months of working together until I moved back out to the West Coast of Canada. During that time, we formed a fast and easy connection. I like to think that I warmed her opinion of hugging. She would laugh. My deepest condolences go out to her family. I want to make sure you know that no matter how brief the connection was with your daughter, she made a lasting impression. I will never forget.

I met Susan about a year before her first overseas trip - I had just been and loved it so much and we talked a lot about it- I told her I lived in Janes chicken fingers so I could travel lol She shortly booked her trip and said Janes are on sale at lawtons! Her love of travel was something we talked about all the time , music as well - she would send me clips of the music from when she travelled - I walked by the Prince George the other day and thought wow I have not heard from her in a while - I checked fb and she was gone - I had a sick feeling and searched her and found she had passed. I am so sorry the delay thought . Your daughter was amazing and she always asked me how my dads was [cancer] and always asking how we were ; we talked music and travel here and there on fb so I was happy to have all my messages. I kissed her as a client when I left my job but was thankful to connect with her for a few years via fb. She will be sadly missed.

Susan was such an amazing bright funny young woman who loved travel like no one else! My friendship was through my daughter, Wendy who worked at the PG and became a good friend of Susan. I looked forward to her FB posts as well as our occasional one on one private exchanges. Gone far too soon and too young, but we believe she’s reached her eternal heavenly home, free of all pain and suffering. God bless her family and friends whose hearts are broken.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Shaw,
There are no words that could possibly acknowledge Sue’s unfortunate passing. I was blessed to work with her for 15 years. She was one of a kind with a natural ability to add laughter to most situations. I’m grateful she was able to travel for many years which she clearly loved. I miss our conversations regarding her annual visits to Dundee along with your holiday homemade chocolates. She always spoke highly of you and it was a pleasure to meet you both on several occasions. I’m truly sadden for your loss.

I was completely shocked when I read this today.
Although we hadn’t seen each other in many many years we were fast friends when we first met at UCCB and I can say we were best of friends in those years.
We shared a lot of great times together with our group of friends and I often thought of her over the years.
I’m so sorry for your loss and my family's thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Dear John & Barbara, I met Sue while working at the Prince George Hotel in 2000 and remained friends with her after leaving the hotel in 2006. Sue made an impact on people. My husband, Troy and I miss her. She always made us laugh and had fantastic taste in music and a shared love of travel. I enjoyed seeing her travel photos and living vicariously through her trips. We attended many concerts together and I have many great memories that I will hold on to.
