Crowe Family, sorry to have learned of Wayne's passing, I remember Wayne when I was a teenager and Wayne was a Cop with New Waterford Police Department. Wayne was always a very nice easy-going guy when he was on patrol, and if he stop you for something ( If it was something very minor he would educate you on the mistake and give you a fair warning ). Wayne was well known in the town of New Waterford. May you rest in peace.

It was very sad to hear the passing of Wayne. He was a true gentleman in every way. He and I ,along with Ken Chislett all from Cape Breton went to Training at RCMP Depot in Regina in 1973. I always had a fond connection with Wayne and he treated myself as well as everyone he met with respect and Dignity, Wayne enjoyed a good laugh and was always pleasant to be around. Wayne was a real joy when I met him as a first year teacher while at Mount Carmel. We met again when Wayne joined us as a camp counsellor at Mount Carmel in Hay Cove. Just over 49 years ago I had the pleasure of training with Wayne in Regina, SK as a member of Troop 19. We shared many laughs together, endured six months of physical training and enjoyed each other’s company only to be transferred to opposite ends of the country at the end of training. I will always remember Wayne as a truly fine gentleman, a great friend and someone who could brighten up a room with his humour & positive personality. Heaven has just gained a very special person and will now be an angel helping anyone in need. God Bless Wayne, his family and friends.

We (Edgar & Barb) were very saddened to hear the news of Wayne's passing. Wayne was always a true gentlemen and care for others was always evident in his work as a police officer. He certainly was a role model for the many police officers he coached and mentored.
I have always admired how Wayne always balanced his Family love and responsibilities with his passion for public service. In this regard His fathers legacy was passed along to his children.

I am VERY sorry to read of Wayne's death. Another reminder of how quickly life and years go by. Yes, Wayne was always a very fine person. I remember one time Bernie MacKinnon telling me that when Wayne and Barbara had just started "going out", they came in to the KOC one evening and Bernie was with Jimmy P. MacNeil, then the mayor. Jimmy asked Bernie, "Who is that young couple?" Bernie said, "That's Sharkey's daughter and Dougie's son." Jimmy went over to them and said, "Hello, Sharkey's daughter and Dougie's son". He then said "I asked Bernie who you are and that's all he told me."
