Obituary of Mary Margaret Neville, Victoria Mines

It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the sudden passing of Mary Neville, 84 of Victoria Mines at home, on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

She was a daughter of the late Bernard and Margaret (Peggy) Ling.

Mary was a member of St Alphonse’s Church, currently the Parish of St Leonard. She lived all her life next to the ocean in Low Point. Mary was brilliant with numbers, which led to her 25year career with H & R Block where she made many lifelong friends. She continued helping many people throughout the years. She was an avid reader and a crossword enthusiast. She was an incredible cook and baker, hosting Sunday Dinners for over 60 years. A beautiful person inside and out, always being there with a helping hand to those around her. To our family, she was a wife, mother, Nannie, and Great-Nannie, showing unconditional love to us all. Her compassion, generosity and kindness will always be remembered by many.

Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Charles; her children Bernie (Stacey) Neville, Kathy (Gerard) Power, and Alanna (Blair) MacDonald; Siblings, Patsy (Frank) Jurcina, Joe (Catherine) Ling, Virginia Rizzato, David (Dale) Ling and Stephen (Janice) Ling; grandchildren, Mary (Tyson) Fecho, Alberta, Michael Power, Gracie and Kelsie Neville, Christa Copan and great-grandchildren, Ollie and Nora Fecho. Grand fur babies, Lucy, Leo, Caper, Koda Twyla and Henry.

Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sisters, Mildred E and Mildred P; son in infancy, Alan and a niece, Audrey Gillis.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford, where visitation will take place on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral Mass will be held at the Parish of St Leonard on Saturday at 10:00 am with Fr Godwin Obike Presiding. Burial will be in St Alphonse’s Cemetery followed by a reception at the Army Navy Airforce Hall.
