Allie was a great and long-time friend. He and his parents were among the most hospitable people I have ever known. We spent extended hours discussing his favourite folk band, The Kingston Trio. He loved the Hootenanny music of the 60s and could rarely be stumped on the lyrics of the songs of that period. He could play the bongo drums well, and his regular companions at St. Mike's High were Gary MacLean and Charlie Capstick, who would go on to make an impact in the music world. Allie was a renowned bachelor until, in later life, he met the love of his life, Marie. They were very happy in the years they spent together. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him well.
