We the family of Allan Francis MacIntyre, age 75 regret to announce his passing on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. 

He was born in Glace Bay to the late Francis and Catherine (Shanahan) MacIntyre.

Allan is survived by his wife Marie (MacDonald), his sister, Imelda (Andy Crosby), nephew, Michael, niece, Kathryn (Derek Huffman) and their family Audrey and Julia. Also survived by stepsons, Glenn, Derrick (Allison) and family.

Allan was a long-time teacher at St. Anne’s School, Glace Bay. He was a member of the KOC and former Grand Knight. 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his grandniece, Maggie Huffman. 

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022 from 7- 9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.

The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 23rd at 10 a.m. in St. Anne's Church with Fr. Duaine Devereaux presiding, a reception will follow in the church foyer and then burial in the parish cemetery.

The KOC will say prayers on Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm in the funeral home.

Donations to the Glace Bay Food Bank or charity of your choice are suggested in memory of Allan.
