It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, John Everet Warcop on Monday, December 26th, 2022 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital (Palliative Care Unit), surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glace Bay on April 22, 1944, John was the son of the late John and Amelia (Mullins) Warcop.
Left to mourn his loss, is his wife of 38 years, Margaret (Burke) Warcop, his beloved daughters, Cathy Warcop, Glace Bay and Paula MacNeill (Conor MacNeill), Niagara on the Lake and his two grandchildren, Matteo Aljadaani and Declan MacNeill.
John is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy Kelly (Johnny), Debbie Warcop, brothers, Brian Warcop (Jackie), Vincent Warcop and Blair Warcop (Joan).
Johnny was adored by his nieces and nephews whom he treated by taking them many times to the circus as young children. He will be greatly missed by many family members.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Jackie and Darrell.
John worked many jobs in his life, but in the end, he chose to follow in his father's footsteps and become a coal miner. During retirement from Devco, he spent a lot of his free time gardening, a hobby he greatly enjoyed. As many know he could plant anything and have it grow.
The Warcop family would like to send a special thank you to Sharon Romeo for providing amazing respite care for John over the past year.
