Obituary of Gordon 'Gordie' Webb: Ontario/New Waterford
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our brother, uncle and friend.
Gordon Francis Webb, age 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Prince Edward County Hospital in Picton, Ontario.
Gordon was born in New Waterford, NS on Sept. 2,1947. He was a son of the late Chester and Theresa (Gaulton) Webb.
Gordon is survived and will be missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Wanda; sisters, Celina (Minnie) Gottwald and Donna (Bill) Durdle; brother-in-law, Kevin Bailey; sister-in-law, Darlene (Randy) Laundry; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Chester Jr., Ronnie, and Lucy Bailey; brother-in-law, John (Gooks) Gottwald.
Gordie was an avid fan of making people laugh. His quick witted humour brought such joy to those around him. He could be seen at Needs or Tim Hortons sharing laughs and stories with whoever was around. He was also a staple helping out at the horse tracks and races during his time in Cape Breton. Along with family members, horse racing was a strong passion he thoroughly enjoyed. Many years ago, he and Wanda were proud owners of W & W Burger Bus that was located up twelve hill. This was a way to stay connected with family and friends as well as meeting new people. Gordie opened a canteen on Lingan Road called Go - Go's Dairy where they lived before moving to Ontario. A place to stop for a few treats and a few laughs. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Rushnell Funeral Home, Picton, Ontario. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
Rest in peace, Gordie!
