I am so sorry to read of Gloria’s passing. Gloria was a great friend of the family and I was blessed to have known her my whole life. Always dressed impeccable and never a hair out of place, even grocery shopping, Gloria was truly the bell of the ball. With outstretched arms, smiling she greeted me with always a laugh. Anyone who knew Gloria has definitely been blessed.

Patsy, Greg, Joan and Joey,
I was saddened to hear of your mum's passing. I had just learned that she and your dad were in Ivany Place, which is just two buildings away from where I live. I was planning to stop in for a visit. What can I say about Gloria? First and foremost she was the most fun mom I had ever known. She loved to go out to parties and dances. She and your dad were always on the go. I knew I wanted to be like her when I grew up. Of course, we loved that too because Patsy got to babysit and all the teenage shenanigans that went on when the parents weren't home. They had a great time, but so did we. I spent a lot of time on Concord Street at the Morrison home. I was never allowed to have a sleepover at my house because we had too many kids, but Patsy was and we shared many weekend nights sharing our secrets, our loves and planning our lives, probably every word of it heard by Gloria through the vents, unbeknownst to us. I don't know how many times I stood just inside the back door waiting for Patsy watching Gloria cook and drinking her beloved bottle of Coke. I felt almost like another Morrison sibling in the summer when Blair and Gloria would pack us all into the car each week after Sunday morning mass and take us to East Bay for the day to picnic, play games and swim. Again, the fun parents. We spent many hours on the trees in the Morrison back yard, some of it trying to hide from Greg, but he always found us. The annoying little brother we always wanted to ditch, but grew up to love. All of this attests to the amazing parents Gloria and Blair were. Then along came Joanie and my brother, Keith, around the same time. We thought we were home free. But no, we were just the right age to be able to relieve our mothers for a few hours of well deserved rest, and ruin our lives....again! Gloria was one of a kind--her wit, her energy, her compassion. A great mom, a great friend and a great inspiration! May she rest in peace with David and her parents. She will be missed. xoxo
