I knew this sweet man many years ago through my many visits to Pete’s Dairy as it was very popular with us kids. Affectionately called Shelly by us kids my memories of Shelly always bring a smile to my face. Always so kind to us, calling us by name and joking, his beautiful smile lit up the store.
I never saw Shelly in anything but a good mood, my heart has a special spot for him. Those memories are as clear today as the days they happened over fifty years ago.
I can still see him in his brown corduroy jacket, smiling from ear to ear and that is how I will always remember him.
My sincere condolences to all those who were his family and friends, we were all a little better for having known this man.
Rest in Peace old friend.

Sorry to hear of Sheldon's passing. A gentleman and always a pleasure seeing him. Although he grew up on Alexander Street, I and many others will remember him as one of us "a Caledonia Boy" at Pete's store on the corner. He was a good man and a friend to all. Thanks for the great memories Sheldon.

Gloria and I are saddened about the passing of her youngest brother, Sheldon. He spent the last 3 years at Waterford Heights Hospital.
We would like to thank the staff at Waterford Heights for their sincere and loving care, especially Wendy. Wendy kept in contact with Gloria monthly and the week before his death was in touch with her daily. The best staff though ever.
Gloria and I saw Sheldon last August. He came alive, sitting in his wheelchair at lunch, with memories of his family- his Mom, his Dad, brothers ,Michael and David, Uncle Peter , and even Gloria and me. We saw him 2 different days and it was one of the highlights of our 4-day trip.
Sheldon's ashes will be buried at St. Anthony's Cemetery with his mother Clara Campbell, wife of David(Turk) Campbell .The tombstone is under the name of his grandmother though, Jane MacIntyre. Thus, three generations will be together.
It is a sad , sad time for all of us. Sheldon's delightful sense of humour and knowledge of his ancestors will be missed.
Rest in Peace Dear Brother. And God bless you Sheldon.
