Sorry to hear of young Ozzie passing.
May the lord give everyone strength, peace and faith during these difficult times. I have known Ozzie and hung around when we were kids living in Scotchtown. Great fond and enjoyable memories when hanging around the old pool hall in Scotchtown. Lots of laughs, fun and mischief we had hanging out together. I have tell a little story about young Ozzie and I. One day when we were in our young teens and hanging around the pool room in Scotchtown, young Ozzie said let’s adventure to PEI for work while we were out of school for the summer months. It was sometime in August back in 1976. We had no internet or cell phone back then and the really social media we had was hanging out together in person. So off we go, hitch hiking to Chartletown PEI. I remember young Ozzie packing a big lunch for us. We finally arrive at ferry terminal to get the last ferry across the strait and when we got on the other side it was dark and cold. We didn’t get a ride into Charletown that night and there were no more ferries until the morning coming over from N.S. Young Ozzie said to me I guess we can wait in front of the tourist building on the bench. The front door entrance was locked. Needless to say young Ozzie went behind the building and door entrance was unlocked so we both enter the tourist building to get warm and fell asleep on the benches inside by the front entrance door. To the surprise of the manager who was opening the front door in the morning noticed both of us on the bench. She said how did you guys get in here. We said the back door was left unlocked and we wanted to get out of the cold until the ferries started running in the morning. She said ok and off we went hitch hiking to Charletown. We did get to the unemployment center and started working for a couple of weeks and we then decided to head back home to Cape Breton. It was quite the journey we had back then. It was the good o days. My condolences to Ozzie family. Rest in Peace my friend.
