Aunt Annie was truly one of the good ones and will be deeply missed. She helped out a lot with my grandmother Hannah in her later years, visiting or bringing her to her own home for a good meal and company. The year Grandma turned 90, Aunt Annie helped us plan a big celebration. She took to my husband that day, calling him the Cook, as they worked alongside eachother in the kitchen, making sure everyone was well fed. Any time we'd talk after that she'd always ask, how's Cook?!
When my Uncle Richard spent a couple years sick, in and out of hospitals, Annie was always there to visit, bring him a home-made meal or to call and check on me to make sure I was managing.
She was a thoughtful, caring person who'd give you the shirt off her back and never expect a thing in return.
Our deepest condolences to Rose, Eddie and Wilma - I hope you know what a lasting impression your mom left on this earth.
Much love,
Art and Erica

We were so sorry to learn of Annie's passing. She was such a wonderful, giving person with a big heart and zest for life. I met Annie as she was a long-time friend and neighbor of my grandmother Flo Nolan who lived on the corner of Pleasant and Melrose. I used to wonder how my Nana got along on her own for so long- until one day when I was visiting my grandmother, Annie called to say that Nana had been out earlier and left a window down in her car. Annie knew it was about to rain, and was concerned abut the car! Sure enough, I went out to check, and the window was down a couple of inches. Annie and Harry helped Nana out a great deal over the years, and as I got to know her, we developed a friendship as well.
She was always looking out for everyone and offering support and care. I kept in touch with Annie after Nana passed and only wish I had seen her more often. I never got to meet her children or grandchildren, and would like to offer my deepest condolences to Wilma, Rose, and Eddie as well as the rest of her large number of loved ones. She left an impression on many lives and hearts that will never be forgotten. We won't be able to make it to her service, but are sending much love. Take care, Lisa (Daye) and Danny Wood

Mary Jo got it right when she said “She(Annie) took care of us all, like we were her own children.” She helped care for my mother in her later years and my brother after his surgery. She helped care for neighbours and friends and provided meals and company for those in need. Annie loved her children and her heart all but broke but when Bill died. She could hardly speak of him without crying. My deepest condolences to Wilma,Ed and Rose, you were the light of her life and she was tremendously proud of you. I’ll miss my chats with her….she was our link between the generation before and ours. Rest in peace,Annie. You were one of the special ones.
