It is with great sadness, that we the family announce the sudden passing of Shane MacDougall, age 49 from Donkin on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the CBRH, Sydney.

Born in Glace Bay, Shane was the son of Mary (Baxter) MacDougall and the late Francis “Frank” MacDougall.

Shane was employed with the Department of Justice as a Correctional Officer in Sydney. He loved many sports and even coached minor hockey in Glace Bay. Shane will be remembered as a very caring, compassionate man who had a great sense of humour. He will be sadly missed.

Shane is survived by one daughter, Kailey, three sons, Logan, Cole and Grayson as well as his sister, Trina (Kevin Clements), Vancouver.

Visitation is Sunday, June 10th from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Fr. Norman MacPhee is Monday at 11 am in Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay followed by a reception in the church hall. Cremation to follow after the mass.
